5 Steps To Make The Perfect Christmas Pudding

Chris Wheeler's recipe for the ultimate Christmas Pudding.

Ingredients to serve 10 people

  • 60g x Unsalted Butter
  • 150g x Soft Dark Brown Sugar
  • 75g x Eggs
  • 4g x Cinnamon
  • 2g x Nutmeg
  • 2g x Ground Ginger
  • 30ml x Black Treacle
  • 50g x Breadcrumbs
  • 85g x Vegetable suet
  • 2 x Oranges
  • 60g x Carrots
  • 140g x Sultanas
  • 140g x Raisins
  • 100g x Currants
  • 75g x Apricots
  • 50g x Mixed Peel
  • 50g x Cherries
  • 1 x Apples
  • 75g x Figs
  • 5g x Stem Ginger
  • 100g Self Raising Flour
  • 10ml x Brandy



  1. In a large bowl, cream the Sugar and Butter together until well combined
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients into the bowl and mix well.
  3. Next, set out your individual moulds and butter well to ensure that they don’t stick.
  4. For small individual pots steam for 1 hour or for larger puddings stream for around 2 hours until cooked.
  5. Set out to cool and enjoy the taste of Christmas!
