It’s Shrove Tuesday which means only one thing...Pancake Day! Grab your best pan for flipping; it’s time to make Pancakes

Ingredients (Makes 12)

  • 110g x Plain Flour
  • 2 x Large Eggs
  • 320ml x Semi-skimmed Milk
  • 1 x tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Lemon Wedges
  • Caster Sugar for Sprinkling

Optional Extras (depending on how naughty you are):

  • Nutella
  • Whipped Cream
  • Slices Banana
  • Chopped Nuts
  • Chocolate Sauce
  • Maple Syrup

Method

  1. Put the flour, salt and eggs into a bowl and slowly whisk in the milk into a smooth batter
  2. Set aside for 30 minutes – this will produce a better pancake
  3. Set a frying pan over a medium heat and carefully pour a little oil into the pan
  4. When hot, cook your pancakes for 1 minute on each side until they are golden in colour - (Chef’s Tip: Once one side is cooked, bang the pan of a solid surface to loosen the Pancake – this will help get the perfect flip!)
  5. Serve on a plate with lemon and sugar, or one or more of the toppings above your favourite filling
